Strawberry sauce:
1 Quart fresh strawberries
1 Cup sugar
Biscuit:
2 Cups flour
2 Tbsp sugar
3 Tsp baking powder
1 Tsp Salt
1/3 cup butter
1 Cup Milk
Cool whip (for serving)
Slice strawberries; sprinkle with 1 cup sugar and let stand for 1 hour.
Heat oven to 450. Grease round layer 8" pan.
Measure flour, 2 Tbsp sugar, the baking powder and salt into bowl. Cut in butter thoroughly until mixture looks like meal. Stir in milk just util blended and pat into pan.
Bake 15-20 minutes or until olden brown.
Split shortcake while warm and top with strawberries and cool whip.
