(Serves 3-4 people as a side dish)
4 large potatoes
2 medium-sized onions
1 egg
half a cup of flour
Salt (3/4 tsp?)
Pepper
Pinch of sugar

Optional: onion powder
Peel potatoes
Skin onions
Grate potatoes and onions into a bowl
Squeeze as much water as possible to add to your liking
Add egg, salt, pepper, and sugar
Add half a cup of flour
Mix to get a nice pancake consistency (not too watery-ish)

Heat the frying pan with a generous amount of oil
Makes small pancakes roughly 10 cm in diameter, 1cm in height
Cook each side 1.5-2 minutes each side to a nice golden color

Serve with
For sweet:
Applesauce, blueberries, or lingonberry jam. Marmalade also works
For savory:
Sour cream and pickle juice, fresh dill, sour cream and fresh dill, pickle juice, or finely chopped German pickles
