3 cups all-purpose flour
    1/2 cup white sugar
    5 teaspoons baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon cinnamon

    3/4 cup butter
    1 egg, beaten
    1 cup milk
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  2. Lightly grease a baking sheet.
  3. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon and salt.
  4. Cut in butter.
  5. Beat the egg and milk in a small bowl.
  6. Slowly pour into flour mixture until slightly moistened. (You won't use it all)
  7. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface, and knead briefly.
  8. Roll dough out into a 1/2 inch thick round.
  9. Cut into 8 wedges, and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  10. Bake 15 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden brown.
